Resurrection from out of the Grand Canyon

He is alive and so are you, lets celebrate today!

Isaiah 53:10

“Yet it pleased the LORD (it was His will and desire) to bruise (crush, made sick, beat with stripes) him (Jesus); he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed (offspring, son), he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.” King James Version

The first time I stumbled across this scripture was like the time I stumbled out of my dad’s station wagon and peered into the Grand Canyon. It was too staggering and monumental to grasp all of it’s wonderment from the first view. Now as an adult, I live near the Canyon. I have flown over it, hiked in it, mountain biked 90 mi. to camp near it, and taken communion at sunset on the edge of it. The trick I have later found out from an old homesteader is to make a picture frame with your hand and look through that. To really grasp the totality and profound beauty of the Canyon, you must look at it piece by piece.

Today on Easter, you might be reading that scripture for the first time. To really began to fathom the words read it once and just soak in the unfathomable awe of Our heavenly Father happy to sacrifice His beloved Son so we can be eternally one with Him. Then to get a higher perspective of this passage, see it in context with the whole plan of salvation; from man rejecting God, to Jesus taking the penalty for our disobedience on the cross. After you have flown over this epic revelation, hike through the meaning of each word, enjoying the deeper understanding. But honestly nothing can make you appreciate it’s grandeur then when it costs you something. Pressing through personal hardships, going the distance in your own life truly helps you to value the price that was gladly paid for you. And then lastly, commune with your Heavenly Father who it deeply pleased to not only create earthly beauty, but also the eternal setting of His son who was miraculously resurrected today for you.
