My Christmas Gift To You: Words

blowing starsAnd the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?

Dr Seuss quotes

“Mankind is a great, an immense family… This is proved by what we feel in our hearts at Christmas.” ~Pope John Paul XXIII

“Christmas can be celebrated in the school room with pine trees, tinsel and reindeers, but there must be no mention of the man whose birthday is being celebrated. One wonders how a teacher would answer if a student asked why it was called Christmas.” ~Ronald Reagan

“You can never truly enjoy Christmas until you can look up into the Father’s face and tell him you have received his Christmas gift.” ~John R. Rice

The Son of God became a man to
enable men to become the sons of God.

(Mere Christianity)

Somehow, not only for Christmas,
but all the long year through,
The joy that you give to others,
Is the joy that comes back to you.

-John Greenleaf Whittier

PEACE IS . . .

~ gazing at the stars with the knowledge
that you know their Creator.

~ closing your eyes in sleep without fear
of tomorrow.

~ the stillness in your heart when trouble swirls
around you.

~ a quiet mind in a raging world.

Merry Christmas! May you be surounded by peace, Joy, and the true meaning of Christmas all year long!
